Thank you for your interest in Wiregrass School of Massage Therapy. Previously known as, Enterprise School of Massage. We have been a state approved, and licensed Massage Therapy School for 10 years. (S-128) Through a multidisciplinary approach to education that combines technical and hands-on learning, our students consistently succeed in the real world. Since we opened our doors, we’ve helped countless individuals achieve their career and life dreams.

Program Overview
Anatomy & Physiology
This course provides a comprehensive study of the anatomy and physiology of the human body.
You will have an in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the anatomical parts of the body, body systems, and their interrelationships and learn terminology used in the medical profession.
Kinesiology
Science of human movement.
Students will learn all the muscles which make up the muscular system, their origins and insertions of the bones and which action they create within the skeletal system.
Pathology
The basic principles of pathology will be presented with an emphasis on understanding the mechanism of development of the disease process.
The student will understand the multifactorial nature of disease etiology. Name and describe diseases as they pertain to the various body systems. Recognize that some diseases may be contraindicated to massage entirely or only locally given or may need doctors' approval.
Medical Terminology
Students will learn word elements which combine to make up a medical term. Abbreviations will be learned, as well as directional and positional terms. They will incorporate these and the names of all the structures of the body to complete a SOAP chart.
Business and Marketing
Help plan a business module to allow the professional therapist to have a workable plan to plot future goals for their massage therapy career.
Learn to encompass the advertising and other promotional activities required to sell a service and retain clientele.
Laws and Ethics
Make the student aware of the local and state requirements for practicing massage. To define ethical principles, standards of practice, and scope of practice for the massage professional.
Supervised Clinicals
Students are placed in a clinical setting and allowed to practice and perfect learned techniques under the experienced supervision of their instructor.
First Aid and CPR Training
The student will be taught how to give immediate and temporary treatment of a victim of a sudden illness or injury. To be taught by a Red Cross certified trainer.

Alabama State Requirements
Legal recognition of massage therapy and clearly stated requirements are critical to advancing the profession—and protecting the health and safety of massage consumers.
The state of Alabama requires a minimum of 650 hours of academic and hands on training.
Wiregrass School of Massage Therapy offers 662 hours of in person training. Classes are held 3 nights a week, from 5p.m. - 9p.m.
